I like gummy bears & biggie smalls.

among other thangs. Business was slower today, so it allowed me the opportunity to deposit a couple checks in the bank. Concerned with my financial well-being, I asked the teller to disclose the exact amount in my savings - a sad number indeed. Still going hard for mine though- the memorial day weekend I worked 32 hours @ Nike before heading back to classroom. Upon the realization that a capitalist mindset is the root cause of corporate corruption, I came to the conclusion that I am so happy poor.

For now.
What sustains me is the freedom in knowing that money doesn't create success. The freedom to make it will.

note: I value your friendship. Thanks for staying true.

I just discovered Marvin Gaye's "Come get to this"
It sounds so sweet

Flying Lotus (Dilla Tribute) "Fall in love"

[Underground] like a deep sea pearl
[Untampered] working hard for my seed

---> "I'm doing it for myself, if you don't take risks & make moves you'll never be as happy as you could be. Live your dreams, that's what I'm doing. We all have it in us."

(always wit the profound touch)

Words of Wisdom
Based upon the strength of a nation
Conquer the enemy armed with education
Protect yourself, reach for what you wanna do
Know thy self, teach by what we've been through
Armed with the knowledge of the place we've been

(Hip is the knowledge; hop is the movement)
The American Dream, though it seems like it's attainable
They're pulling your sleeve, don't believe, 'cause it'll strangle yah
Made to feel inferior, but we're superior
Break the chains in our brains that made us fear yah
Pledge allegiance to a flag that neglects us
Honor a man that refuse to respect us

(It takes a Nation of millions to hold us back!!)
we gotta start teaching children
That they can be all that they wanna to be
There's much more to life than just poverty

(Hip is the knowledge; Hop is the movement)

As a first-generation Filipina-American, the pursuit of the American dream began with my first salute to the American flag, back in the first grade. The education system is that elusive tool where the grandaughter of a town-market-seller-tindahan ni aling __ can equip herself with the tools to open up shop- even in the front yard of the home of the brave. With the prospect of graduation looming even closer ahead, these untangible myths that appear as one-dimensional text bound in books, are now given the opportunity to rise into full form & put in context - 15 years later..

Now, as a 21 year old Filipina-American with an agenda of goals, I stand just beyond the threshold, laced with a college degree. Knockin on the doors of the powers that be - tryin to get a slice of the economic pie. Does the U.S. education system guarantee direct manifestation of the American Dream? Absolutely not! But you better believe -
we'll keep knockin...

Daily Menu:

[Chorus: Yummy - De La Soul]
Much more is what we got in store
Just believe me
"And what we have is much more than they can see"
"And what we have is much more than they can see"

De La Soul produces the finest quality anthems. I owe much to the basslines in songs such as "Tryin People" and "Much more" as collectively, they've been my anthems throughout the schoolyear. In retrospect, the key difference between L Boogie in 2007 and L in '08 is this: I've found my inner peace. Cutting off loose ties, practicing patience, and minding my own business. Replace weakness for strength, I've mastered the art of Independence: honey I aint depending on anyone for my source of happiness. My main source of strength lies in Christ alone.

I got my mind right and my skin is glowing. SUE ME.

just sayin

"You say you love me but is it really real
Would you, fix me green tea if I'm feelin ill
Would you, give me a back rub to sooth after a long day
Dinner by candlelight but your the main entree
And if so I do the same with other treats to give you
Trailin rose pedals from your door to beneath your pillow
With a bucket of champagne on your night stand
Experience with someone who want in they life span, the same"

"Leslie Dizon, thank you for using Ticketmaster. Your order number is ***********"

That's all love right there. I'm talking top notch creme of the crop FAVORITES of mine. Countless playlists, bus rides, evenings at home, and time spent materializing plans have been actualized and accompanied by their sounds. Collectively, these artists embody THE TRUTH. I could go on and on..
