So Yesterday Mami dearest told me, “Don’t be so excited to work
Leslie. You’ll be workin for the rest of your life!!”
Babymama actually got me Much More excited, as I pictured myself
Building my future, and holding the keys towards brighter days with each step.
I could potentially fulfill every dream and build a team.
Everyday race towards the prize,
Each sunrise standing as an opportunity to test my thesis
Because one lives not in pure theory alone
Later I quipped, “Mami do you listen to music a lot?”
I spit something like:
“Horn’s that announce the revolution is near
So listeners with an efficient ear
Are listening,
Eardrums open for christening”
Mami paused for a second and said,
“That’s HEAVY”
You know it. Like Love you inspire me to be the higher me.
