Love is a process.
Working is a process.
And political change in an arena where overcoming race relations is half of the battle itself, Barack Obama has emerged as the presidential candidate for forward progress.
Demonstrative of this powerful statement, I took notes of his speech at the Democratic National Convention:
-Obama's campaign foundation lies in our responsiblity to restore our American legacy; the "American promise" that we can manifest our individual dreams through hard work & sacrifice, and yet stand together as one U.S. family.
-Key issues underlying the demand for better healthcare, education, and a restored economy. Including investment propsals of 150 billion in attaining affordable, renewable resources of energy, and a timeline of 10 years for freeing ourselves from the financial chains & dependency on foreign oil. Emphasis on providing a world-class education for our children, and rallying for intellectual/ moral strength.-->sign up for this gameplan, yo. serious
-Obama aggresively attacked McCain's campaign, claiming that it wasn't because he didn't care about the American citizens, but that he simply "didn't know". Concrete evidence pointed to 90% of McCain's voting in adherance to the Bush administration & his definition of "midde class" as those households making less than 5 million.
45 years later MLK "I have a dream speech", and on this night, with ideas for the future & fixing our eyes on things unseen - Obama made history.
Upflifting the American promise, and asking a nation "What constitutes progress?", there was no doubt- You could feel the ground shaking with hope under a sky of fireworks.
