Always, Hope

Hope is the fuel that the human heart runs on.

Hope is what prompts a young man and woman to stand before a preacher and promise, “I do,” even if they have no guarantees.

Hope is what fuels the same couple, many years later, after broken promises and broken hearts, to give their promise another try.

Hope is why human beings keep bringing children into a fallen world.

Hope is why there are hospitals and universities.

There was this world-reknowned architect who had built beautiful buildings across the world, masterpieces of architecture. He was asked in an interview, of all these wonderful things you’ve created which is your favorite? His reponse, “The next one.”

That is Hope defined. Looking to a next level that’s not yet in existence. Looking forward, having a passion for the possible. Hope is the parent of faith.

That is H o p e.
